Aviation agency commits to safety during election year

Abuja - The Managing Director of the Nigerian
Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engineer
Ibrahim Abdulsalam, has charged staff of the agency
to use the festive period to remain committed to
duty.
He urged them to profer ways of building a more
robust agency that will be the pride of the continent.
Abdulsalam made these remarks in his New Year
message ahead of Thursday.
Abdulsalam noted that their duty was to continue to
maintain a safe airspace especially in 2015, which he
noted was an election year.
"Our duty to continue to maintain a safe airspace for
the nation has become even more compelling given
that 2015 is an election year where people will be
expected to do a lot of movement across the
country," he said.

The executive appreciated the staff for their loyalty
and support during the past year and enjoined them
to remain steadfast in the project of building upon
the gains of air safety in the country.
He stressed that the agency's equipment was
efficient.
"Our navigational and surveillance equipment are
working at optimal levels, making the Nigerian
airspace to rank among the safest in the continent,"
