Kaduna - The Medical Director, Federal Neuro-
psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, Dr Taiwo Sheikh, on
Friday appealed to striking workers in the health
sector to resume work.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Friday, Sheikh
urged the aggrieved health workers to ``show
patriotism and pity the sick that require medical
attention''.
According to him, the government is working
towards addressing all the grievances raised by

He assured members of the public that the hospital
had made adequate plans to cater for the health
needs of its patients.
The medical director said government would resolve
all the issues, adding that all tertiary hospitals had
been directed to continue to render services to the
citizenry.
Sheikh said that the government was still paying the
salaries of the striking workers as a sign of its
willingness to encourage them to return to work.
He, therefore, appealed to the JOHESU members to
consider the plight of the citizenry and appreciate
government efforts by calling off the 10-week old
strike.
The JOHESU members embarked on the industrial
action to press home their demands for improved
working condition, equipment and infrastructure in
public health facilities in the country.
