Nigeria can win Women’s World Cup, says Iniabasi Umotong

The England-based striker who scored her first goal in the Falcons' victory says Edwin Okon's team can win the Fifa Women's World Cup in Canada
New invitee Iniabasi Umotong believes coach Edwin Okon’s side has the ‘can do spirit’ to win the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada which holds from June 6 to July 5.
Umotong, who plays for English Women Super League outfit Portsmouth Ladies, joined the national team camp on Wednesday, March 11 and expressed special delight at scoring her first goal in the Super Falcons' 3-0 win over Confluence Queens.

“It’s so exciting playing and winning. And getting a goal for myself was an amazing feeling,” Umotong said.
The 20-year-old who previously played for England U15 women national team said she is largely excited with the Falcons’ aggressive attacking approach just as she is trying well to acclimatise since making her first ever visit to Nigeria.
"The [Super Falcons] are fantastic. I love the style of play - they play attacking oriented and that fits into my style of play as well. They are very friendly, enthusiastic. Everything here is great.

"Of course, [the team can rule the World]. With the team's spirit, the way we play and our passion for the game and support of Nigerians, we can," she continued.

"There is no much difference. It’s the climate that is the main difference. The style of play here is a little bit different from Portsmouth. I prefer the style of attacking here because I'm an attacking oriented player. I think it will definitely sooth me more."
She further promised to make more goal scoring impact with the reigning African champions.
"I’m happy scoring today (Saturday), definitely I hope to score more goals in the jersey of Nigeria," she concluded.
