Boko Haram: Cameroon Directs Navy To Lake Chad
Cameroon mobilized about 500 navy staff members to Lake Chad to stall Boko Haram threat in the area. This comes shortly after the country announcement about contributing 2,450 troops to the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
According to The Voice of America, the fresh claim was made by the navy chief of staff, Rear Admiral Mendoua Jean. The military official alleged that terrorists might be using Lake Chad after having been disloded from Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian army.
He also insisted that the deposited troops would spare no effort and neglect no detail to crush the notorious sect.
Meanwhile operations by the Nigerian army in Sambisa Forest have seen a new stage following Muhammadu Buhari’s recent directive. Recall that President Buhari ordered the newly-appointed service chiefs too crush Boko Haram in three months.
The Nigeria Air Force started massive bombardment of the area in compliance with the policy and hit the insurgents’ bunkers using the newly-deployed aircraft.
