Musa Assures Nigerian's Of Good Performance Against Eygpt
Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa has assured Nigerians that the team will perform better when they face Egypt on March 23 and 27, 2016 for the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2017 double header.
Speaking after the Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Niger on Tuesday, the Nigerian skipper informed that the performance against Niger was a sign of better things to come.
Musa, who opened scoring for the Eagles from the penalty spot in a 2-0 win over Mena of Niger on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, said the new team coach Sunday Oliseh is building, will strike a better understanding before the double header against Egypt.
He toldAafricanFootball.com: “I am very happy that we beat Niger Republic and played better than we did against Tanzania. Though it was a friendly, I am sure it served the purpose of getting us to play better as a team.
“Nigerians should therefore expect to see a better Eagles by the time we play against Egypt in our next Nations Cup qualifiers next year. We are on track and improving as a team.”
Musa said he celebrated with Oliseh upon scoring the first goal against Niger because he was sure the new Eagles handler was getting his first victory and dedicated the goal to his wife Jemila, whom he praised for keeping his home in order when on footballing duties.
In a related development, the Super Eagles will resume training camp at the end of the month ahead of a series of friendlies against African sides in Europe, as well as a 2016 CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso.
